Going to be mid-80's again today, but with no rain. Have a 30-40% chance of rain over the next few days though. Hopefully it doesn't have any rain in the forecast this weekend so my parents can get their pool painted. I wanna swim dagnabit!
I haven't seen it yet, but I want too. My nephews love it. My mom bought it for them and they watched it two times in a row the day they got it. It looks pretty cool.

cant say as I have been to the movies in a while (trying to remember the last movie, after the deathly hallows pt2), not much of a movie goer as I dont like the volume at ear drum rupturing levels nor the snot nosed kids---
more rain for us for most of the next few days (getting tired of the 'chance for thunderstorms, some could be severe'). Not quite as hot today though--only 80 (instead of mid to upper 80's).
Think we are trying to crash all the records for this year (or at least make the top 5 in each category)....one of the coldest, snowiest and now we are trying rainiest
wish we would try for the most normal

I avoid going to movies as well. Just too expensive now-in-days. Which is ridiculous. Why do I want to pay $10 to see a movie that I could buy for $15 when it comes out or rent for a $1? Don't get it.
Most normal? Hmm, I could like that actually.

It's a video renting/streaming service. I've heard of ones like it but don't personally have a subscription to one. But that is pretty neat.
Weird that it disrupting your internet connection. The only time I had issue with raining really hard was when I had satellite TV and it would disrupt that signal. Otherwise it was fine.

actually have heard of it, and experienced it as well----our cable does this when it rains (sometimes), our line was not buried deeply enough and either some critters or the lawn crew cut into it, and then viola! when it rains the cable gets fuzzy. Had to get the cable idiots out to put in a new one--old one looked more like a stalk of wheat than a cable from all the nicks and cuts it had at the end of it.
and their is a computer program that you can upload (free) that you can watch movies and tv series on--hubby has it and it does get some of the movies pretty soon after release, no idea what the heck its called but I know we watched a few newer movies that way....and I remember the last movie I saw, the last star trek movie!, and then we watched it again on the tv/computer program (it was too loud at the theater) so I could actually watch the movie with the volume at a decent level (I may be old, but my hearing is jusssst fine ).

xbmc its not torrents (hubby does those for his anime). Its a program that allows you to watch stuff (old or new) on the computer.
Our cable problem came to a head a few years back when it rained for about 20 days straight and after being on the phone with them everyday (asking the same dumb questions each time) they decided to send someone out who besides asking the stupid questions (did you change anything, etc), looked outside at the cable from their box and found the problem (very quickly too, if they had just started there instead of ...well, thats another story). They put a new cable in and gee, guess what, it worked even when it was raining (and still worked if I changed things). Only reason I knew that that was the issue was at our previous place every spring they would have the landscapers come in and they would edge around the lawn areas and inevitably cut our cable line---like clockwork (the last year we were there they finally sent someone who looked and saw a 1/2 dozen cut lines and said that they were not buried deeply enough and took all those out and buried the new one lots deeper, of course we left that spring ---), so I have some experience in that area.

You know what would be nice? ALL utilities that come into the house, do so from underground. That way the wind, a random tree branch, a car taking out a utility pole, etc., does not take out your services.
We have/had 3 trees, each close to 100 years old, in our front yard. One of them was half dead and the live side was wrapped around the power and cable lines that come into our house and the neighbor's house. Slowly and carefully, we took out each branch that was over and around the lines. One of the last branches we were removing, suddenly gave way and and took out our cable line, splitting it in two. Finished dropping the tree and spliced the line back together. I called the cable company and a technician will call us in 4 to 5 business days to make an appointment to replace the line, that runs from the pole to a splitter on the side of the house.
Should we decide to remove and replace the other 2 trees, they will be done by professionals.

oy!
Yeah, having them in the ground is good--if they are deep enough to not get hacked by inept grounds people (you know the kind I hables of). And yeah, I would agree ANY time you have to get near a power line type I wouldnt do it, heck I wont even let the hubby change out the electrical plates in the condo--I dont play with electricity ever. (better alive than dead).

Trees are not fun to remove, especially near any type of lines. Have to be super careful. Definitely worth hiring professionals for.
Where my parents live they have pretty much everything underground. They live in a subdivision off a back road, so the subdivision has all cables buried but the main road doesn't. So they still lose power and such from time to time when they lines along the road come down.

Woo, Friday! Spent all day helping my sister move out of her place and to my parents. (Parents are SUPER excited...) Also went with my dad and wife to look at a van for my sister, since she currently doesn't have a car and needs one with four boys. (And no, my parents are not excited that she and her boys moved back home. They love them, but my parents also already raised 4 kids)
I don't know if I have plans for the 4th. Need to figure that one out...

my plans are on hold right now---my a/c died yesterday, and the techs are soooo busy that they wont get to me until this afternoon at the earliest.....it was almost 90 in here last night and if they need to replace the whole condenser thingy wont get one until tuesday (and yes it supposed to be hot for the next few days, dang thing has horrible timing )....so not sure if we will be doing much of anything right now (besides sweating).
moving home with 4 kids...my parents would have freaked too. (none of my siblings had 4 kids, but yeah).

Oh wow that sucks cosy... Definitely need a/c when it is this hot out. And I know with your computers you need it as well! Hope it is an easy fix. The a/c at my sisters old place wasn't working. She said every time they turned it on it tripped the breaker. So I'm guessing their is a short some where in the lines. But she isn't living their now, so not her problem I guess. (Wouldn't have been her problem in the first place since they were renting, but it hadn't worked for a week and they didn't tell the landlord)

I am hoping for the best, but expecting the worst--the unit is almost 30 years old (big ole thing outside), and the fan wasnt moving on it yesterday and it made a horrible hissing noise at me when we turned it on...so I am hoping for a quick new compressor motor, but expecting them to tell me I need to get a whole new one (which I will need to get 'approval' for from the assssssssssssses here and then, yes a permit for the stupid ones in the village! so it might be sometime before we get one if the idiots here are like most idiots---and with the holiday I am thinking most folks are on vacation so yeah worst estimates are sometime after the 7th--not really liking to have to wait out thru the hottest days this year with no a/c and yes, the computers will need to be shut down)
